The Institute of Food and Resource Economics (FOI) conducts research-based consultancy assignments for the public sector concerning economic issues with regard to food, agriculture, fisheries and the environment as an integrated part of the overall communication strategy of the institute. The main activities of these services include the preparation of reports and notes as well as participation in committees and working groups.

Research into the area of food and natural resources is linked to the production and consumption of foods and non-food products from the agricultural, horticultural and fishing sectors. It spans over primary production, preparation and trade to distribution to the consumer. Research also encompasses management of the environment, nature and landscape.
