Vacant positions

The Production and Technology Unit at the Institute for Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen is looking to hire a number of student assistants to help with various projects. Depending on the specific projects, different tasks are involved and thus different skills required. Some of the currently relevant projects are:

Development of micro-based sector model 
    • Skills: Knowledge of agricultural production and microeconomic theory and will-        ingness to learn programming in GAMS 
    • Project leader: Svend Rasmussen (sr@foi.ku.dk)

Farm level analysis of the relationship between economic performance and animal welfare 
    • Tasks/skills: Data preparation, handling and analysis, report writing 
    • Project leaders: Mogens Lund (mogens@foi.ku.dk) and Arne Henningsen()

Stakeholder management in private forestry 
    • Tasks/skills: Transcribing interviews, thus must be fluent in Danish 
    • Project leader: Carsten Nico Hjortsø (cnh@foi.ku.dk)

Foundation of Electronic Markets (www.cfem.dk) 
    • Skills: Programming and simulation 
    • Project leader: Jens Leth Hougaard (jlh@foi.ku.dk)

Application of Bayesian Networks to agricultural risk management 
    • Tasks/skills: Risk modeling, data analysis and report writing 
    • Project leaders: Mogens Lund (mogens@foi.ku.dk ) and Svend Rasmussen()

Your background can, for instance, be Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Natural Re-source Economics, MØK, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science. Some projects will require Danish speaking students whereas others will not.

The number of hours and timing of those are generally flexible and to be agreed between the student and the project leader. Please contact the individual project leaders for further information and to apply.
